Originally these were two separate charcoal studies. When I placed them next to each other, I thought it was interesting. I decided to put them together as companion pieces. The top picture is a flower. The bottom image is a close up of blades on an indoor fan.

The Light Within
This piece was inspired by my continued exploration of spirituality. This is another work about auras and the light we all have within. The different colors around the body refer to moods and mental states. Much more information can be told about ourselves by looking at the auras. This can guide us in making positive changes in our lives.

The Universe Pt. 2
This is the 2nd part of the universe series. I will be making a 3rd piece also. I created movement in the shape of a subtle spiral.
The Mask
This was a scketch I did from a tattoo that I liked. I decided to color it in. I like the mask as a symbol of the many faces people put on to survive out in the world. You stop wearing all the masks when you are faced with death.

Universe
I wanted to create my version of what a part of the universe would look like. I have been studying planets, stars, and clouds in outer space. I am fasinated by the subtle movement of the plantes and the changes that happen over time. The universe is one big abstract painting. :)

Oriental Brush Painting- Butterflies in Nature
This was made in a class study of butterflies. In this piece I was trying to capture the delicateness and movement of the butterflies. I learned from a Chinese teacher techniques and styles of water color painting past down through generations. I loved this class so much. We did light yoga before each class and hand exercises. We also had to sit up straight and have the paint brush with a pointed tip. The teacher was very serious about the class knowing Chinese History.
